DetectMyFaceShape
A free browser tool that tells you your face shape.
Good for: A quick, free face shape answer that never leaves your device.
Free ("no limits") · "Processed in your browser and never uploaded"
If you only want your face shape, free browser tools like DetectMyFaceShape, FacialRatio and WhatsMyFaceShape work without uploading your photo. If you want to see haircuts on your own face, pick a tool that does both — Face Shape Haircut AI (ours), YouCam, FaceTwin, Kurli or HaircutAI — and check what is free and whether it is a subscription.
We make Face Shape Haircut AI. Everything about other tools comes from their own websites, checked November 4, 2026.
From each tool's official website, checked November 4, 2026. "Not stated" means the site does not say.

We are the team behind Face Shape Haircut AI, so read this as a comparison by one of the tools in it. To keep it fair, every fact about another tool is taken from that tool's own website on November 4, 2026; where a site does not say something (a price, a privacy period), we write “Not stated” instead of guessing. We did not rank tools by quality, because face shape results and haircut previews depend on your photo.
Things worth checking before you choose: whether your photo is uploaded or stays in the browser, whether the free part shows you anything useful, whether paying is one-time or a subscription, and whether you get something you can actually show a barber.
Where ours falls short: previews are front view only, there is no app, and only one of the three free previews is clear. See how our face shape detector works and haircuts by face shape.

Short answers first. Measurements come from our own face shape tool.
For a free face shape answer that stays on your device, DetectMyFaceShape, FacialRatio and WhatsMyFaceShape all run in the browser with no sign-up. If you also want to see haircuts on your own photo, Face Shape Haircut AI measures your shape free and shows three haircut previews free.
Face Shape Haircut AI, YouCam, FaceTwin, Kurli and HaircutAI combine face shape with a try-on on your photo. HairstyleAtlas and Hairu focus on try-on. Free amounts differ: check each tool's current offer.
Face Shape Haircut AI gives a barber card per cut that breaks the cut down — length on top, clipper guard and fade height on the sides, the back, texture, styling and how often to trim; HairstyleAtlas (Plus) has a before / after sheet; Hairu says its previews are for showing your barber.
It varies. Face Shape Haircut AI, FacialRatio's report, FaceTwin credits and Hairu credits are one-time; HairstyleAtlas and HaircutAI use subscriptions.
Not always. There is no official definition of each shape, and most faces sit between two. Tools that show measurements and a second shape make it easier to judge the result.
